We're all familiar with the famous banner planes that zig zag across the shore every summer, towing advertisements for everything from car insurance to night clubs.

And of course the boardwalks themselves have billboards and ads from end to end.

But today, I saw something that I hadn't seen before in the waters just off the Seaside Park beach - a boat with a big electronic billboard onboard.

If you think about it, it's really a brilliant way to get eyes on ads.

Banner planes are counting on people looking up.

Boardwalk billboards have become so numerous that they pretty much blend in to each other these days.

But when people are on the beach, they're looking out towards the water. And when you see a boat only a few yards from the shore, you'll definitely look.

I know they have been around for a few years, but today was the first time that I saw one pass right by our Seaside Park studio.

And you know what? Whoever came up with the idea, good for you, it's a great concept!
