Christie meets with California delegation

Christie was visiting with the California delegation when he brought up Brown’s name and remembering his run for the White House against Jimmy Carter in 1976 and 1980.

During his own speech to a California union, Brown hit back. “Nothing wrong with being a little retread,” said Brown according to the Star Ledger.  “I hereby challenge Gov. Christie to a three-mile race, a push-up contest and a chin-up contest,” he said. “Whatever he wants to bet, I have no doubt of the outcome.”

Don’t count on a matchup happening anytime soon between Brown and the Governor

“Defensive much?” Christie spokesman Kevin Roberts told the Star Ledger. “This is what it looks like when you’re out of ideas, I guess. Except, of course, raising taxes.”
