NORTH WILDWOOD — After the bodies of two young swimmers were recovered over the past week on nearby beaches, police are attempting to identify a third body that washed up on shore Sunday night.

The body, which police said was believed to be a Hispanic man in his early 20s, was found around 9 p.m. between 24th and 25th avenues. The man is believed to be between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. Police said he has short black hair with no tattoos and a 1-in. scar on his left shoulder. The body was recovered with the man wearing maroon shorts.

According to the police, the body did not show any signs of trauma when it was found.

The local police contacted other agencies throughout Cape May County as well as the U.S. Cost Guard and the state police to attempt to identify the man.
