92-year old Burlington man killed in car accident Sunday in Berkeley Township

An elderly man from Burlington suffers fatal injuries after being hit by a truck on Double Trouble Road in Berkeley Township Sunday around 2:30 PM.

Investigators with The Ocean County Prosecutors Office say the 92-year old man, identified as Robert Fastow, had stopped at a stop sign in a 2014 Ford Fusion near the Exit 77 Garden State Parkway ramp, then veered into the road and was struck by an oncoming pickup truck.

The 1997 Ford F250 was driven by a 48-year old man from Berkeley Township with no reported injuries from the crash and also had the right of way.

The accident remains under investigation, where medical officials will determine if there was any medical episode leading to the fatal accident.
