There's a moderate risk for rip currents and some rough surf at the Jersey Shore today.

Meteorologist Dan Zarrow explains other possible impacts and more in his daily surf report at wobm.com.

From funding the gateway tunnel and new port authority bus terminal, to ending the use of capital funds for operating costs at NJ Transit, to future technologies like driver-less cars, there's a staggering to-do list of transportation items facing the next governor says Rutgers University policy analyst Martin Robins, co-author of a new fund for New Jersey report.

"This report is like an alarm bell, that there are a lot of things that have gone wrong and a lot of key issues that are on the table right now that need attention," said Robins.

The report says the state could save money and streamline engineering by folding its toll-road authorities into the DOT, but it says the state needs more money to pay for its needs.

Perhaps by raising MVC fees or adding new tolls on some interstates.
