A woman dies on a Middletown street, hit by a car during this morning's rush hour. Police have not issued the identity of the victim or driver. The collision occured at about 8:47 AM on Main Street, and Hunters Pointe.

President Trump's 90-day travel ban, aimed at six Muslim-majority countries, can proceed, by order of the U.S. Supreme Court. Justices overturned several lower-court rulings, and indicated that they'll hear arguments in the Fall.

The 2015 shooting death of Tamara Wilson-Seidle by her estranged husband, a former Neptune Township police sergeant, prompts the Asbury Park-Neptune NAACP to demand a federal investigation of the department, and release of a 2014 internal report of conditions on the force. Wilson-Seidle's children filed a wrongful-death suit against Neptune, Asbury Park police, and the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Water restrictions begin in Manchester, staying in effect daily between 10 AM and 5 PM. Lawn watering is limited to odd-numbered homes on odd-numbered days, and even-numbered homes on even-numbered days. Homes with private wells are excluded.

The shore Republican sponsor of a state Senate gun-control bill blames Democrat partisanship for blocking it from an upper-house vote for the second time in a week.Senator Jennifer Beck's bill would require seizure of firearms from mental health patients deemed threats to themselves or others. A similar Assembly bill, with eight Democrat sponsors, won approval.
