Day one of the "summer of hell" turned out to be a walk in the park for NJ transit customers who rode the Morris & Essex line had to get off their trains in Hoboken and catch a path train, bus or ferry into the city, because of Amtrak infrastructure upgrades at New York Penn Station, but there were only minor delays.

Arson is suspected in the burning of two cars in Lakewood.

Police say both were found in flames in two spots near the Lakewood Country Club shortly after midnight Monday.

They don't suspect bias, but investigators are asking witnesses to step forward.

A new poll from Monmouth University confirms New Jersey-ans aren't happy about Governor Chris Christie's trip to Island Beach State Park while it was closed off to the general public.

Poll director Patrick Murray says they asked residents the first word that came to mind upon first seeing those now-infamous photos.

"The top words that we heard from New Jersey-ans were 'disgusted', 'angry' and 'disbelief'," said Murray.

Meanwhile....just fifteen percent of New Jersey adults approve of the overall job Christie is doing as governor....eighty percent disapprove.
