Anticipating a $14,700,000 budget deficit for the 2017-2018 school year, Lakewood Schools Superintendent Laura Winters asks New Jersey education officials for a $10,000,000 advance in state aid. The Lakewood Scoop reprdouced the letter in which she states her case to avert more than 100 layoffs and meet thorough-and-efficient education standards. Ms. Winters has refused several requests for direct comment by WOBM.
