President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania were in Texas on Tuesday visiting the state as they begin to recover from Hurricane Harvey.

Speaking in Austin, he addressed the federal government's work in helping the state recover.

"The sad thing is that this is long term, nobody's ever seen anything this long and nobody's ever seen this much water in particular," said Trump. "The wind was pretty horrific but the water has never been seen like this."

A second major shelter has opened in Houston following Harvey's landfall and it's welcoming the first of up to 10,000 evacuees.

At least 10 buses pulled up to the NRG center on the south side of the city just before midnight Tuesday.

Officials anticipate about 2,000 people at the conference hall adjacent to the decommissioned Astrodome and NRG stadium, home of the Houston Texans.

So far this summer, New Jersey officials have responded to at least nine suspected or confirmed cases of harmful algal blooms at various lakes and streams.
