The Barbara Forfar Nursing Scholarship Fund has teamed-up with United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and the River Rock Restaurant & Marina Bar to help the jersey shore victims of Hurricane Sandy and the nurses of Ocean Medical Center at its second annual fundraiser "Rock for the Nurses-Rock for the Shore" to be held Sunday April 21. The eight hour event will be a very special afternoon packed with live music from some of the top shore cover bands, an all you can eat hot and cold buffet, drink specials, prizes and give-a-ways, other special activities and a lot more…!! The Lacey United Methodist Church “Sandy Relief Fund” has been established through the generosity of community members and friends of lacey township. The purpose of this fund is to assist families living in Lacey Township who continue to struggle after the effects of Sandy. The “Live Healthy Ocean County Chronic Disease Screening and Education Program” will take place at the County Connection in the Ocean County Mall on Wednesday, January 23, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. This program offers residents and opportunity to receive education and blood pressure, stroke risk and osteoporosis screenings in a “one-stop-shop program, free of charge.” Walk-ins are welcome and registration is not required.
