LAKEWOOD — Four people were shot at a sports park on Saturday night, according to police.

Lakewood Police spokesman Lt. Gregory Staffordsmith four adults were seriously injured in the shooting at the Frank Bartolf Sports Complex on Brook Road, a recreational facility with a playground, baseball, soccer, football fields, and a sheltered picnic area.

Jahquan Fenn, 25, of Lakewood was arrested in connection with the shootings after police found a firearm he was trying to conceal under his leg while he was a passenger in a vehicle that was trying to leave the park. Donaysha Peace,21 of Waretown and Sanaya Smuoone,20 of Lakewood were both charged with the possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Another firearm was located on the ground between two parked cars.

A 30-year-old woman, 53-year-old man, and a 24-year-old man, all from Lakewood, were among those shot and taken to Monmouth Medical Southern Campus by private vehicle. A 28-year-old man from Englishtown was found by police taken by ambulance from the park. The four people shot were attending a large party at the park

The 30-year-old and 53-year-old were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

The Monmouth Medical Southern Campus Hospital Office of Security, the Ocean County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene and K9 Units, Howell and Jackson police all assisted with the investigation.
