An attempted robbery and multiple stabbings on a Barnegat basketball court leads to four arrests.Barnegat Police had to sort out the order of events but determined that 20-year-old Sean Ruiz and two 16-year-old attempted to rob a 17-year-old on the Village Drive courts.

Ruiz and one of the 16-year-olds were stabbed by the 17-year-old who then fled the area to Lexington Boulevard. The 16-year-old sought treatment at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin while Ruiz was treated by the Barnegat First Aid Squad.

Police connected the incidents all together and charged the 16-year-olds with 2nd degree robbery. Ruiz was charged with the same and is hospitalized at Atlantic City Medical Center. He is being held on $40,000 bail. The 17-year-old with was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was released to a guardian and faces a Juvenile Court hearing. The knife was recovered from his residence by police.
