Did You Turn On Your Heat?

I have a feeling that many home heaters in Ocean County were clicked on last night.  Mine was.  Was yours?  With the high cost of gas and oil, it would make financial sense to wait a while.   But, I'll admit, I just got too cold for comfort last night so that thermostat was switched on.   Do you have a rule at your house as to when your heating system goes on?  Some people follow a certain date on the calendar.  Some start the heat when the temperature goes down to a certain number.  Do you have a programmable thermostat?  Do you use space heaters?  A fireplace or wood stove?    Or are you "toughing it out" for a while with lots of hot beverages and extra blankets?  Whatever you're doing, I wish you a comfy end of October!
