WATCHUNG — Authorities are searching for two women who allegedly stole information from a member of the New Jersey State Police and purchased nearly $100 worth of merchandise from a Walmart.

"Let's be clear, neither of these two suspects are troopers, but they allegedly stole some information of one of our own," NJ State Police said in a statement on Facebook.

On July 7, the two women visited the Walmart on Route 22 in West Watchung. They swiped multiple credit cards that they were not authorized to use, purchasing items totaling $99.92 before leaving the store and driving away in a white SUV.

"They look pretty happy in those pics," state police said on Facebook. "With your help, we will see if they smile for mug shots."

Police are asking anyone who may recognize them, or who has information on the incident, to contact Det. Brian Emerick of the Watchung Police Department at 908-756-3663, ext. 114 or email at bemerick@watchungpd.com. Tips can also be submitted anonymously.
