Police and fire units cleared two separate accidents in Toms River near mile markers 86 and 87 of the Garden State Parkway one of which  killed a north Jersey man.

State Police Officer Christopher Kay say Jeffrey Rosenberg, 27, of Paramus was heading northbound when his car left the road and flipped over into the woods near marker 86 around 7a.m.

Rosenberg was pronounced dead on the scene. He was the only person in the car.

A few minutes later Justin Schwartz, 23, of Neptune was driving northbound when his 2003 Lexus traveled off the road, spun around and and struck a tree near mile marker 87. Schwartz was ticketed for driving while intoxicated and careless driving according to the Asbury Park Press.

He was transported by helicopter to Jersey Shore Medical Center with serious injuries.

Both accidents were reported when the roads were still wet and fog was in the area this morning.
